TILE JOINTS are elements of the floor that people don’t really pay too much attention to, even tho they store important information when it comes to cleaning porcelain tiles. To answer the question on how to remove grout haze from porcelain tiles it is necessary to know what type of grout has been used. Tile joints in domestic settings are generally made of two different kinds of grout: EPOXY GROUT or CEMENT-BASED GROUT.
To better understand how to remove grout haze from porcelain tiles it’s crucial to be aware of what kind of grout has been used during the installation.
Remove epoxy grout haze
The EPOXY GROUT is one of the most frequently used grouts in a domestic setting, especially in those areas of the house that are more prone to humidity. The epoxy grout has indeed amazing occlusive and hydro repellent abilities. Another amazing characteristic of this type of grout is that it’s available in a multitude of colors, this makes it easy to find a good fit for almost every need.
Often, in the post-installation phase of porcelain tiles, you can start noticing the presence of a grout haze on the surface. When the grout used during the installation is epoxy grout, during the post-installation cleaning to remove the grout haze from porcelain tiles becomes easy with EPOXY CLEANER.
EPOXY CLEANER is an alkaline-based detergent developed to remove residues and films from the grouting and sealing operations using seals or epoxy-based products. The product can be used to clean the surface at the end of the installation and also when the post-installation cleaning is poorly done or not done at all, EPOXY CLEANER can remove any film or stains that might affect the material.
HOW TO REMOVE GROUT HAZE WITH EPOXY CLEANER:
Faber recommends the use of a WHITE PAD in combination with a PAD HOLDER WITH JUNCTION as an alternative to the typical mop. The sponge-like and non-abrasive structure of the white pad makes it the ideal tool to increase the cleaning power of EPOXY CLEANER enabling you to achieve the desired finish.
Pour EPOXY CLEANER straight onto the surface with a white pad.
Let it perform from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the hardness of the residues. When the residues are particularly stubborn brush the surface to increase the cleaning power of EPOXY CLEANER.
Once the application of EPOXY CLEANER is done, remove all’ the residues on the surface with a wet vac, a cloth, or a paper towel.
When all the residues are removed from the surface, rinse the floor with plenty of water.

How to remove cement-based grout haze
CEMENT-BASED GROUT is one of the most common and traditionally used kinds of grout. Typically associated with the cement-like shade of gray, the cement-based grout is available on the market in a plethora of different colors.
When the grout used during the installation is cement-based grout, removing the grout haze from porcelain tiles becomes easy with CEMENT REMOVER.
CEMENT REMOVER is a concentrated acid-based detergent, specifically developed for post-installation cleaning of floors and coverings with a cement-based grout. CEMENT REMOVER eliminates all the residues of glue, grout, and varnish. It restores the original appearance of the treated surfaces without changing the color of the tile joints. CEMENT REMOVER is a product that can be applied to all the acid-resistant materials.
To remove grout haze with CEMENT REMOVER the steps are the same as previously described, the only difference is that the product can also be used diluted depending on how stubborn the dirt is.
